Oh, WOW but where did go the last month? I haven't posted for various reasons...but now it's time to do something!

Here is Valentina's kindergarten party before Christmas and all her classmates all the kids are 29!

We had snow before Christmas so here was a white, quiet and pleasant day with all the family!

Now we are in 2010....may be a better year this? I HOPE!

For the moment we are waiting for snow this night and I love snow!

Wool DYB RR

A new DYB is ready to start on CQI Group and this is my set of blocks! I am in love with wool expecially during this very cold period!

We had flu in different waves since two weeks now!

I am also excited for a new project I want to do on December 08 there will be a Christmas Market in my town and a friend of mine ask me to take part to it...so... I am busy to sew and think, think and sew because time is short!

BLOGGER QUILT FESTIVAL - FALL 2009

Amy at Park City Girl is having a Blogger Quilt Festival on line for this Fall and this is the quilt I want to share!

I made it following the Basket Crazies pattern from The Buggy Barn using Holly Taylor fabrics if I remember well!

I bought pattern and fabrics during a beautiful vacation in the Northeast of USA in 2002. The quilt shop was in Rangeley (Maine) and there was a very big cat that I am impressed every time I think to our great vacation!

Diane was my partner in the Tin Swap in the CQI Group and she done a super job because she covered a tin for me and then a tin for Valentina and then a tin for Siria....that was a very beautiful and special big surprise that this great Lady made for us!

Back from a little vacation with the girs on the mountains I can post som stitching I done on Karrin's Landscape block and Wendy B&W block.

I had the first week with a lot of rain and flu so I could do some cq and some new things for a next project I have in mind....but about this I will tell you when I will be ready!

This is my entry for the Purse Contest in the CQI Group now that the contest is over I can say something...

The contest was full of talented Ladies that with beautiful purses took part in two categories one was crazy quilting and the other was other kind of purses we voted and discover the winners: Kim, Cathy and Dakotah for cq then Lyn and Karrin for other kind.

I am very happy with this contest was a lot of fun from the start to the end!

Park City Girl is hosting the Bloggers Quilt Festival and I think that is a beautiful thing!

I choose to show this quilt I made during an on line Quilt Class. The fabrics are all cotton the background is deep brown and the quilting is by machine.

The class was very good and I loved the method used in the same time I made a second quilt with different colors to see the differences in dark and light background.

This is Bonnie's block I stitched for her Anything Goes DYB. I did some SRE flowers as decoration for the fan and then I wanted an all white seams for the background. Hope she likes it!

As I haven't feeling with PC I could do a disaster with mine...last week it was off so I thought that was good to do a restoration of the system...in this way I LOST EVERYTHING!

I signed up for some RR in the CQI Group and one is for this ATG 5 DYB where six blocks 6"x6" are sent together in the round with the opportunity to choose where to stitch the magic!
I was in trouble with the theme but finally I decided for a very popular that is "under the sea" with curved piecing method.

Christmas in January....

Yesterday was Christmas again because Susan's Christmas Cracker for me arrived after a long trip!
She sent it on November to be here for Christmas but it returned back to her in January and finally arrived here to me safe and sound.
This is what she sent...it is wonderful she chose a pansy theme and this is one of my favorite because in spring my garden is covered from different kind of pansy that pop up in different color and period (but I never put them in my garden they are carried by the wind).
As I am attracted from the block I am thinking...make a second block with the extra fabrics she sent and stitch them now and do something for me?! I hate when my mind go on more then my hands!

I changed the "yellow" blocks direction of this project and now I like it...I am only in doubt about the yellow fabric...
The quilt is for my rectangular table and the yellow angles will fall from the table so my ideas are two now...leave them as they are or add a vine appliqué...

The fabrics are from Intercourse PA so they are tipical Amish colors. I thought to use them in a cq season project as follow green for spring, blue for summer, brown for autumn and purple for winter. This is only an idea...I must study how to do the blocks now...

My black block is finished and here is the needlecase.

Ho voluto fare delle semplici taschine all'interno per qualsiasi cosa e ho anche aggiunto dei feltrini per puntare gli aghi.

I wanted to do some pokets inside for all I need and I also added some wool for the needles.

Ho pensato di chiuderlo a libro e fermarlo con un nastro in velluto.

I thought to close it like a book with a velvet ribbon.

Ho finito di cucire anche questo blocco fatto con colori bianco/crema e tessuti che ricordano i vestiti da sposa. Sarà parte di un quilt il cui ricavato verrà poi devoluto. Leslie è l'organizzatrice di tutto ciò!

Questo è quello che sono riuscita a fare in una settimana di vacanza al mare visto che c'era brutto tempo!
Il blocco è stato fatto qualche tempo fa per gioco ispirandomi a bellissimi blocchi dal gruppo CQI.
Ho pensato di provare questo colore che non è mio ma che fa risaltare il colore dei ricami benissimo!

Ho concluso il challenge per il mese di maggio. Ho voluto fare una custodia per il mio telefonino.
Ho ricamato un piccolo blocco crazy che ho poi foderato, ripiegandolo in due e richiudendolo a mano con un punto nascosto.

This is the final result for the May TIF. I wanted to stitch on a little crazy block then sewn a fabrics for the inside folded in the middle and then stitched around leaving open the top of the cellphone pouch.

Magic Moments DYB RR

Ho un nuovo RR che partirà tra poco...questa volta si devono fare sei blocchi di 6" uno per partecipante. Si spediscono tutti assieme e ogniuna di noi può scegliere il blocco che preferisce su cui ricamare. Abbiamo 6 temi diversi l'una dall'altra, il mio set sarà una copertina per Siria.

I have a new RR starting at soon...this time we will have six blocks 6" one for each participants.
All the blocks are sent all together in the rotation so each one can choose the favorite to stitch on.
We have six different themes and mine will be a little quilt for Siria.

Ok, devo ammettere di essere un pò in dietro per quanto riguarda il tema del mese scorso così dovrò correre questo mese per mettermi in pari...
A questo proposito dovrò modificare i miei piani e questo fa riferimento anche al tema del mese di Aprile su come ogniuno di noi vede un cambiamento io in questo caso lo vedo necessario!
Pensavo di non procedere più con i miei blocchi cq tutti della stessa misura per un progetto finale come un piccolo quilt, ma di seguire il mio istinto mese per mese. Per quanto riguarda il mese scorso ho creato dei piccoli motivi da applicare ai blocchi per esempio.
Per questi due mesi avevo pensato di fare due crazy porta telefonino usando i colori delle due palette!

Ok, I must say that I am a little behind with the last month so I must run to have both ready as soon...
In this regards I need to change my plans and this is about the April theme and how someone could see a change and now I see it necessary!
I thought to leave the idea to have all the same blocks all the same measurement for a final project but follow my instinct month by month. For the last month I crocheted some little motifs for my cq blocks for example. Now I thought to sew two cellphone pouch with the colors palette!

Ho pensato e ripensato al mio blocco di Marzo, ma forse il colore forse per come è venuto...non sono stata catturata...così ho pensato di ritenere questi piccoli motivi all'uncinetto a tema. Cioè l'attenzione per le piccole cose. Ovviamente sono motivi da applicare ai miei blocchi cq.

I thought to the March block but maybe the colors or maybe the result...I wasn't captured from it...so I thought to enter these crocheted motifs for the challenge theme. The attention for the little things. Obviously all are applique motifs for cq blocks.

Spring blocks

Last year I made a spring project for my table. There are different block size two big, two medium and two little blocks. Here are the first and the second big block.

Then I thought to put one medium in the Dreams of Spring RR (CQI Group) and now it is running on but I can tell that it is beautiful!

I am on the other medium hoping to see the end as soon for THIS Spring!

Here is my block for the March challenge. I used the color palette and that will be for the next challenges so I could put together 12 "playing colors" blocks at the end of the year!

Siamo a Marzo e Sharon B. ha espresso il tema di questo mese che è l'attenzione per le piccole cose oppure la palette di colori.
Pensavo di continuare a lavorare i miei cq blocchi con le palette perchè scoprire di poter usare colori che non si usano abitualmente è un ottimo esercizio.

We are on March and Sharon B. posted the theme for this month that is pay attention for the little things or the color palette.
I thought to go on and work my cq blocks with the color palette because discover and work with new colors that aren't yours is a very good exercize.

We had a wonderful experience during the last week end. I met Judith in Venice where she is staying till March 15 she is canadian and I know her from the CQNewbie web group.
The surprise of the surprises is this block she is giving me it is a "Baby block" made for Siria's birth from all the CQNewbie Ladies.

It is beautiful! I thank all the Ladies for this surprise!

Una mia amica mi ha chiesto notizie di questo blocco. Ho partecipato ad un Round Robin Etnico dove ho rappresentato l'India.

A friend of mine asked me about this block. I joined an Ethnik Round Robin where I chose to represent India.

Ho scelto di lavorare con la palette di colori anche questo mese è bello sperimentare nuovi colori che non sono i tuoi abituali e devo dire che una volta cuciti insieme hanno un effetto che mi piace.

I chose to work with the color palette this month, too. I have fun working with new colors that aren't yours and I must say that I like the final result.

Sharon B. posted the challenge for this month on her blog.
As always she chose a theme and a color palette. Probably I will work with the color palette because the theme is difficult to "translate" in a cq block! But I want to wait for a couple of days before the final decision.
